Dear Friends,
I hope this newsletter finds you well and that you are enjoying the beginning of Spring! While we are grateful for this digital format, we also believe there is a place for print and hope you enjoyed reading the most recent issue of the Meetinghouse Magazine, a retrospective look at 2022-23 on topics ranging from Global Education to the story of Juneteenth. If you have comments on the issue or didn’t receive a copy, please let me know.
As you will read in this issue, this has been an exciting time at Friends for many reasons but especially because Leading the James Turrell Skyspace at Friends Seminary, is now fully accessible to the School community and general public. Named by the artist, the word leading has special meaning in Quakerism, which is - an inner conviction that impels one to follow a certain course under a sense of divine guidance. While the artist offered no explanation, we think it is a reference to the school’s conviction (over 9 years!) to create this installation which is so closely aligned to the School’s Quaker mission. If you would like to visit the Skyspace in the future, please let me know. We are juggling lots of requests but it would be a pleasure to welcome you!
In friendship,
Director of Major Gifts and Planned Gifts
