Marjorie Jean-Paul joins Friends Seminary from Ethical Culture Fieldston School where she served as the Chief Advancement Officer. She has more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit management, planning, and development. As a management and fundraising consultant for nonprofit organizations and corporations, she has also advised on philanthropic structures and initiatives.
Marjorie’s independent school career began in 2007 at the Waldorf School of Garden City, as the Director of Development and Alumni Relations. She continued this work at Buckley Country Day School, where she became Chief Community Engagement Officer, while also serving as the Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Marjorie comments, “I was first introduced to Quakerism through volunteer work with the American Friends Service Committee. I am looking forward to deepening my knowledge about the School and getting to know the entire community.”
Marjorie earned a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, a master’s degree in Nonprofit Management and Organization Development from the New School, and a Certificate in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from Cornell. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Organization from the University of Pennsylvania. Click here to meet more new faculty and staff.
